Description
"As he had feared, Yin found he was not able to catch Yang.
To his relief, at the least, she had fallen into a grey area of sorts; a place of seemingly nowhere.
There were no monsters, no fires, no battles to be had.
But alas, Yang lay motionless on the ground; she had crashed.
Yin rushed to her side, equally as torn as her and filled with fear and dread.
When he got to her, however, he found something he hadn't considered possible.
Yang hit the ground, oh and she hit it very hard, but...she was not broken.
She remained in one piece.
Unconscious and withered, true, but she was alive.
More miraculous and all too enchanting as well, was that the light that had left with her, stayed with her.
With Yang finally still, the light and the blossoms of the sakura trees fell back into her midst, surrounding her.
Yin marveled, but he was more impressed with Yang's resilience than anything.
He knew when she awoke, she would be weak and sorrowful, but she would recover.
He knew she would, and he wanted to be there to oversee it.
Yin wanted Yang to know that she had a place to belong, and that it was with him.
He wanted her to know that he would never drive her off again, and if truly had need be, he would have died for her.
And so he transformed into a feathered serpent of magic and might, and cradled her in his claws.
Lifting them both on wings to stretch across the sky, he flew them back from where they'd come, not wavering in faith even as his own feathers flaked off of his battered body.
But as they flew, Yang's petals and light followed, never slowing, and never getting lost.
It was time to go home."
