Terror of the Skies~

"The tides were turning in our favor, until she came...

                The ground shook, and we heard a fierce crack from seemingly nowhere.

Then, the ground seemed to open up as a cloud of dark smoke rose from the pit, and a crest of spines stood and rolled in succession.

Then her head, and a pair of glowing eyes amidst the fire opened and she bared a row of horrific teeth.

She took in a long breath, and a shrill roar bellowed out so that the earth trembled.

Like a demon under the earth's crust she rose before her wings opened, and her shadow seemed to engulf the land.

The sky vanished in the thick smoke, only a faint light peering over her shoulders when she stood tall.

                I thought we could take it.

I thought we were trained well enough to withstand this monstrosity, but I was sorely mistaken.

Blood, fire and ash rained on the battlefield in flaming precipitation, burning everything in our path and killing our forces.

A portal opened, and those who didn't die were cast into the realms beyond to goodness knows where...

                She came to us next, plucking us like so many grapes from a vine.

Only I, Ignitus, managed to get away and hide from her wrath and the armies.

            Now that we are all safe and whole, and have Cynder safe with us, I can't help but feel a sense of shame over my ignorance.

Nothing truly was her fault, after all..."

Following this is a passage by Ignitus recounting the even to someone else some time after the battle with Malefor (my head cannon promotes Ignitus to come back and live )
