Smaug: Red Harley Crested Gecko

   TA DAAA!!!    today i got another gecko! this is my new boy Smaug he's six months old! got him at a reptile expo downtown in Evansville. Spent a good two hours wandering around, gawking at hundreds of reptiles. most of them were pretty healthy but a certain section of leopard geckos looked like they were in poor shape :/ one was missing a whole HAND and when i asked the guy, "is he missing fingers?" he said "i don't think so" =.= nothing ticks me off like people who only breed and sell animals in poor conditions for the benefit of nothing but money... i almost got that gecko, too. My mom really wanted me to get it but the heating isn't something i've really mastered, so i didn't want to adopt him and then he end up freezing to death or getting too hot even ;n; poor baby...but yeah so i got me a red harley crested! never in a million years did i ever dream that i would have geckos!!! he's very stressed out as he's just been moved, so he needs to adjust for a couple weeks and get used to my face and smell before i can handle him a lot wish me luck! if any of you out there are considering getting a gecko or reptile of any kind, PLEASE do your research before adopting and be sure to check multiple sources before looking for your special someone. like all animals, these creatures have specific needs and guidelines and reptiles are very particular. for beginners, house geckos and cresteds are best. if you know you're very tactile and you're a beginner, get a crested as they are the least tempermental so enjoy!
