Description

Oh my gosh.
OHHH, my gosh oh my gosh oh my gosh!!!
See?!?!?!?!
I told you guys that I always, always come back to Spyro at some time or another.
Cynder has been, is, and always will be, my FAVORITE dragoness, and dragon PERIOD.
I will never give up drawing her! Snif..Is Beautiful..Onion

I spent ALL DAY on this yesterday.
A cramped neck, sore fingers and aching chest from laying on the floor are, IMO, a small price to pay for this piece.
Someday I will probably see this as obsolete, but for now it's a display of my modern abilities and I am very proud~.

There are 7 Cynder drawings all on this one page!
There were going to be 8 probably but I drew Fae in there so...she and her big butt/tail took up that extra space :XD:
It's for the best though, my fav number is 7 and I don't think I would have survived shading ANOTHER Cynder yesterday.
I was worn so thin, I spent HOURS shading this all!!!
It doesn't look like much effort, but since i'm here i'm going to take you through EVERY SINGLE MOTION of drawing and shading one Cynder in my style.

1. Sketch it.

2. Be ok with it.

3. Outline it.

4. Remain ok with it.

5. Erase pencil marks.

6. Shade the wing membranes, belly and neck with a coral copic marker.

7. Because this paper is blue, the red was not clear enough.
So shade over the coral copic with a magenta prisma pencil to brighten the red.

8. Apply light mahogany copic to little areas to suggest roundness and shadow.

9. Apply pink prisma pencil adjacent to shadow marks to create a look of light and shininess.

10. Grow a pair because you know the scariest part is coming.

11. Shade all the black parts of her body with a black sharpie (as carefully as humanly possible).

12. Use black ABT marker in certain areas to suggest roundness and shadow.

13. Apply a dark grey prisma pencil adjacent to the shadow marks to create a look of light and shininess.

14. Apply a much lighter grey prisma pencil right in the center of each light mark and cast it out on either side to make it look velvety.

15. Shade all the white and metallic bits like her horns, eyes, head pattern, under eye pattern, claws, wing thumbs and tail blade with a white gel pen.

16. Let it dry.

17. Apply medium-light grey copic marker to horns at the base for shadows.

18. Apply the same marker to wing thumbs and tail blade to make it look like metal.

19. Reapply same marker over certain spots there to darken the shading on the metallic bits.

20. Let it dry.

21. Come back in with a white gel and add white dots to metallic bits for extra shine.

22. Shade her iris.

23. Re outline EVERYTHING in black pen in case the pencil shading bits made any areas dull.

Twenty-three steps, guys...
TWENTY-THREE.
And I had to do this seven times over!!!
And not only that, but I had to do an element for each one.
I mean...
I didn't have to, but I really wanted to show each element off in my style!
I'm happy with the result, I think it adds something special to the paper and brings it more to life.

When I first started this project I had a few favorites, but now I can't pick one.
I love them all, and I intend to take great care of this new self-done treasure of mine.

In case you're wondering, in my head cannon, Cynder has 5 elements instead of 4, since she had Dark Fire in the first game.
Since Spyro's purple he's destined to be able to control ALL the elements, so Cynder's not really outshining him :XD:
Of course I don't think Spyro will inherit Fear or Shadow because those are more abstract and emotional, but I think he could acquire wind and poison and maybe not dark fire, but certainly lava or something :D
You may also notice a firework thingy and a bit of a rainbow fire, and I will explain each and every picture individually...
WHEN I DIVIDE THESE ALL UP AND EXPLAIN THEM!!! :icondiblaplz:

Once that's done I will put a link to each individual pic here in the description for those lazy future viewers X)

So...
I really hope those who watch me and have been holding out for Cynder art are happy, this was as much for you as it was for me and i'm so glad this was my first finished art of February 1st. :happycry:
Enjoy, everybody!!!
